Message from Dr. Atyia Martin, Executive Director
National Initiatives Updates
Black Resilience Network
Thank you to our executive committee for their leadership on facilitating our very first full membership meeting! On February 22, 2023, there were almost 50 Black Resilience Network members in attendance. We shared a little bit about our collective journey, organizations, and, most importantly, gained insight from members about what would be most helpful to them.

Greater Boston Programs
Boston Resilience Corps
Dr. Gayl Crump Swaby joined some of the young people in our out-of-school time and workforce development program, Boston Resilience Corps. The young people explored psychological resilience and practical ways to maintain their mental health. Dr. Swaby gave every young person a copy of her book, Unlocking Legacies and Releasing Burdens.
Resilience Builder Summer Program
Boston Residents Only
Pathways to racial justice and resilience are paved with reframing narratives, building knowledge and skills, being in a supportive community, and taking strategic, collective action. So, in the summer of 2020, we partnered with All Aces, Inc, BridgeBuilder Cinematic Arts, TCGT Entertainment, and Encuentro Diaspora. Each year we evolve the program for even more impactful experiences.
Elder Wellness & Care
Over 100 Black elders in the City of Boston received food deliveries in March from Next Leadership Development.
